Protesters protesting against the Israeli attack on Gaza were tear gassed by Turkish police at the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul today.
The protesters, with Palestinian flags shouted slogans and some jumped the fence of the consulate and broke windows with stones according to APA.
The Turkish police then proceeded to tear gas and use the water cannon on the protesters.
There were similar protests in Ankara, but police did not intervene.
“The occupying Israel has made a bloodbath of Palestine by bombing them for the past 15 days. Now we are here as the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Parliament is in recess now and will remain so tomorrow,” deputy Yildirim said.
Another AKP politician at the protest, Ahmet Aydın, described Israel's attack on Gaza as “state terror” according to the Hurriyet Daily News.
